The Region of Southern Denmark is one of five regions in Denmark and its most important task is to provide health care to its citizens.

The Region of Southern Denmark

• has four hospital units in different areas and different cities and towns in the region. The region has a total of 17 hospitals;
• is responsible for the psychiatric treatment of citizens suffering from mental disorders;
• offers free medical care from a total of 770 general practitioners.
